How to use Shadowbox with a flash component

First, download and install Shadowbox (possibility to pop-up images, videos and SWFs) using their tutorial.

Next, in your images.xml file at the url (or link for some components) attribute try to specify something like this:

url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('images/01.jpg','img','First Image')" target="_self"

Also in your HTML file that embeds the SWF you'll have to write the following JavaScript code between the

tags:

Note that the Mediabox will not work if tested locally. You’ll have to test it on a HTTP server.

Hello,

Thank you for your response to my asks.

How can I set image dimension with iframe or direct link to vimeo or youtube movies.

Thanks

FlashXML Support

Hi,

To add links to Vimeo/Youtube videos write the absolute path to the videos in the images.xml file at URL attribute, as you have already done in the following example:

url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('http://www.youtube.com/embed/0WqS5OwnXEs','iframe','http://www.giraf.ch')"

To define the width and height of each individual iframe edit images.xml file and at URL attribute add the width and height values as here:
<photo image="images/01.jpg" url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('http://www.google.com','iframe','http://www.flashxml.net', '600', '400')" target="_self">Download the new
3D Carousel</photo>

Do the same on each image row and provide different dimensions for each iframe.
There is also the possibility to set the dimensions of the content opened in the shadowbox window from the embedding code too, just where you added the shadowbox script, on this line:
Shadowbox.open({content: url, player: player, title:title, width:"600", height:"400"});
}

FlashXML Support

Hi,

Please follow the steps provided on this page carefully, then edit images.xml and insert an iframe with the html file like this:

<photo image="images/101.jpg" bigimage = "images/big/101.jpg" lightboxinfo="Description for image 1" url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('index.html','iframe','http://www.flashxml.net')" target="_self">
Hello
</photo>

Hello team,
i’ve definetly made image scroller work with shadowbox, and now i’m able to launch both video and images frome your component using jwplayer as shadowbox player. I followed your tutorial to make all this work, i’ve just a couple of questions: – if you look at all the playable content from my home, the size of the video is very small. how can i pass jwplayer custom dimensions for the video?(notice that shadowbox dimensions work properly and in the page ABOUT ME you can see several images open in fullscreen) – how do i load an html page into shadowbox?( it loads the shadowbox rectangle but it just appear the link to the page and not the content)
Thanks in advance for the support. i’m all for your components!

best

Hi,

1. You need to edit the LaunchShadowbox function and to add width and height attributes like in the following example:

Now in images.xml you can specify the width and height for your videos.
e.g:
<photo image="images-home/reels_thumb.png" bigimage="reels_thumb.png" lightboxinfo="" url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('http://www.danielepezzella.it/wp-content/flashxml/video-player-fx/video/demoreel_2010.flv','flv','Demoreel 2010','600','400')" target="_self">My Demoreel 2010</photo>

2. If you want to open a HTML page, you will need to set the iframe value for player like in this example:
<photo image="images/101.jpg" bigimage = "images/big/101.jpg" lightboxinfo="Description for image 1" url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('http://www.danielepezzella.it/?p=667','iframe','http://www.flashxml.net')" target="_self">
Hello
</photo>

Thanks for the reply, I’m using the component in a localhost (127.0.0.1) so I can check the component before using it on server.

I know I’m mising something… but I don’t know what is it. I can get that it works creating a image02.html with this object in the body:

<object id=“flashxmlpanoramaviewer1” height=“565” width=“1127” type=“application/x-shockwave-flash” data=”/joomla/flashxml/panoramaviewerfx/PanoramaViewerFX.swf” style=“visibility: visible;”>

and creating in the k2 article a link to this page like this:

I think is the long way because I need to create an Index.htm for each file… but I didn’t find any solution using the plugin tags: {panoramaviewerfx settings=settings2.xml}{/panoramaviewerfx}

FlashXML Support

Hi,

If you are trying to load the component with different settings.xml correct the embedding like in the example below:

Also make sure to set a folder path to the component.

If you still encounter issues please go to the products home page and follow the install instructions for a general website.

Hello I’m trying to use Panorama Viewer FX (with Shadowbox) in a localhost for joomla 1.5.23, but I’m a bit lost. I would like to use a panorama image in a k2 article, without shadowbox, Panorama Viewer FX works fine. This are the steps I follow:

1. In the index.html, in the panoramaviewerfx folder, I inserted the script.
2. In the k2 article: {panoramaviewerfx settings=settings2.xml}{/panoramaviewerfx}
3. In images2.xml: <photo image=“images/panoramas/2.jpg” hotspots=“assets/hotspots/hotspots2.xml” url=“javascript:LaunchShadowbox(‘images/panoramas/2.jpg’,‘img’,‘First Image’)” target=”_self”>PHOTO</photo>
4. In settings2.xml : <assets value=“images2.xml”/>.
5. The config of Shadowbox is in mootools

Using this configuration, the k2 article displays the image using Panorama Viewer Fx as Shadowbox wasn`t installed.

Using: Image in the k2 article works fine, so Shadowbow is correctly installed.

Thanks for your help.
