How to use Shadowbox with a flash component

First, download and install Shadowbox (possibility to pop-up images, videos and SWFs) using their tutorial.

Next, in your images.xml file at the url (or link for some components) attribute try to specify something like this:

url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('images/01.jpg','img','First Image')" target="_self"

Also in your HTML file that embeds the SWF you'll have to write the following JavaScript code between the

tags:

Note that the Mediabox will not work if tested locally. You’ll have to test it on a HTTP server.

Hi there. First of all thank you so much for this wonderfull and simple guide in how to manage to use shadowbox in flash. Hi have a a movieclip in flash that loads thumbs images trought an xml file(images.xml). In that xml file there is also the path for the big images. What i would like to do is when i click a thumb in flash it opens a shadowbox gallery with the bigger images. I saw an explanation here that you say to specify the path to the big images (”<photo image=“images/Action_Coaching.png” bigimage=“images/big/Action_Coaching.png” url=“javascript:LaunchShadowbox(‘images/big/Action_Coaching.png’,‘img’,‘First Image’)” target=”_self”>Click Here To Preview The Course!</photo>”) in the images.xml. Ok, but what function do i have to call in flash AS2.0 to the thumbs images in order that a looop gallery in shadowbox appears. Thank you and hope you could understand my poor english

Greetings guys, I’m a bit lost on using th eshadowbox function with the flash components.
I’m really trying to get the “symbiosis” template to work with this, but I seem to be missing soemthing.
the site is: http://www.privanzadelcampo.com.mx
I’m working this as a temp gig, and If I ge tthis right I’ll buy the licenced copy in order to “skip” the FlashXML tag on the top left and I’ll give you guys the due credit in the “about” page.
Also, how could I add a counter to de “footer” there?
The component is Symbiosis and exactly the embeded “3D banner FX”... which allready uses a “URL” comand, so I think it could lunck the shadowbox command, I’ve gotten it to launch0, but it “launches a new instance of the site….
Many thanks in advance

Hi,

If you want to implement shadowbox to 3D Banner you need to follow the next steps:
1. Create a folder in the root of your site, let’s say shadowbox, and copy inside of this folder the shadowbox’s files.
2. Add the following code between
and
in your HTML file:

3. A photo tag in images.xml should have the following structure:
<photo image="images/101.jpg" url="javascript:LaunchShadowbox('pages/home/3DBanner/images/101.jpg','img','First Image')" target="_self">

An Acceptable Time
Lorem ipsum dolor sit amet...
</photo>

Hi,
If I want to load a swf file, is it possible to make shadowbox running in transparent background while in flash component. I hate the black box behind. For more detail plz see the example site i issued below. Thanks team!

FlashXML Support

Hi,

Normally you could get rid of the overlay behind the Shadowbox, either from the JS or from the CSS file. However, since we did not create this script you should ask the Shadowbox developers on how to make custom modifications to it as we can’t provide any support in this direction.

Hello,

Is it possible to add a link from the “big” image loaded in the shadowbox ?

Thanks and best regards

FlashXML Support

Hi,

Unfortunately this is not possible. Shadowbox can only open images.
