How to use Mediabox with a flash component

First, download and install Mediabox (possibility to pop-up images, videos, SWFs and HTML content) using their tutorial.

Next, in your images.xml file at the url (or link for some components) attribute try to specify something like this:

url="javascript:LaunchMediabox('images/01.jpg','image 01', '300 300')" target="_self"

Also in your HTML file that embeds the SWF you'll have to write the following JavaScript code between the <head></head> tags:

<script type="text/javascript">
function LaunchMediabox(url, caption, dimensions){
Mediabox.open(url, caption, dimensions);
}
</script>

Note that the Mediabox will not work if tested locally. You’ll have to test it on a HTTP server.

Mediabox blocks other flash content on website, fix ???

FlashXML Support

Hi,

This is probably due to the way the Mediabox works. You will have to contact the scripts developers to see how/why the script is hiding Flash content on your site…especially since you are not using this script with any of our components…

Hello, it is possible to use the function of album of mediabox in order to have the navigation of activated, this in order to avoid returning on the carousel to reach has the following image.

FlashXML Support

Hi,

Sorry, but I don’t think it’s possible. You could try using Lightbox functionality instead which offers this option too. You need to follow the steps from option A provided on this FAQ article.

Hi, I was wondering if any plugin (fancybox, mediabox, shadowbox etc) besides lightbox++ supports gallery sets of images in 3d Carousel FX? Is it possible to set any of them up so that when you click on a thumbnail and the box shows up, you are able to navigate back and forth between enlarged images? If so could you please provide the code necessary to do this?

Thanks,

B

FlashXML Support

Hi,

Unfortunately these Java Script plugins are not developed by us and with the instructions from our site this is not possible. You could check their tutorials and try to create the appropriate functions to achieve this.

Does anyone have javascript and actionscript 3.0 codes for Top Up/ Lightbox?

FlashXML Support

Hi,

We only offer support for the 5 scripts in our FAQ section of our site. I recommend you only use these 5 scripts as we don’t have people available for every possible script implementation.

Allow me to explain how we create the bridge between our products and the lightbox-type scripts:

When we use Ligthbox-type scripts with our components, we create the instance of that script in the page, by adding the embedding codes from the 5 scripts supported by us to the HTML file.
Then we tell our images, via the images.XML file, to launch the specificied javascript and thus opening the image in the script.
So what needs to be done is for you to declare the script on your page, according to their developers’ installation instructions. Then write a javascript function calling it’s name. Then link the pictures in the images.xml with the javascript.

Yes that’s ok :-)

In fact, when i make it with lightbox i created a directory lightbox in joomla root with script inside and i did not understand why i didn’t need the same directory for Mediabox.

I had to forget a step in the procedure.

Thank you very much

Best regards.
