How to load a product with a different settings.xml file from Flash using ActionScript code

Open the included .FLA file, select the component that is on the stage and give it and instance name (e.g. myComponent) using the Properties Panel (Ctrl + F3).

Next you have to select the frame from the main timeline where the component is located and press F9 to open the actions panel and write the following line of ActionScript code:

myComponent.settingsXML = "settings2.xml";

To specify different settings files for the following products:
Customizable Grid Gallery FX
Dock Gallery FX
Elite Gallery FX
Flexible Media Gallery FX
Image Scrolling Gallery FX
List Gallery FX
Photo Gallery FX

Drag the flash component gallery to stage. Open the Properties Panel (Ctrl + F3) and set an instance name for the gallery, e.g: fxgallery. Go to the actions panel and add the following ActionScript code:

fxgallery.addEventListener("navigationLoaded", loaded);
fxgallery.addEventListener("galleryLoaded", galleryLoaded);
fxgallery.settingsXML = "settings2.xml";
function loaded(e:Event):void {
fxgallery.navigation.settingsXML = "NAVIGATION/settings2.xml";} //NAVIGATION has to be replaced with DockMenuFX, ImageGridFX, ImageListFX or ImageScrollerFX, depending on the gallery you're using
function galleryLoaded(e:Event):void {
fxgallery.gallery.settingsXML = "holder/settings2.xml";}

Hi. Make sure all the paths are correct, because the linux servers are case-sensitive.

first,thank you for your wondful products.

for this topic, I have a good suggest to you, on every product customizing page,when user customize a product to download , your webpage automaticly package a different settings.xml file for user , such as settings1.xml, settings2.xml and so on.

to those no programing persons, it is very convenient. I hope you to take my advice, thank you very much.

Hi. What help folder? You have to read the installation instructions here. Go to the component page, that you bought it, and you will find the instructions.

Hi….

I’m very concern on how to load informations from local database to be use in page flip Fx please help me.

FlashXML Support

Hi. This is a little bit difficult. You will need a php developer for creating a script for getting data from database, and create an images.xml file compatible with PageFlipFX component.
