You can edit the day letters and month names for different languages, and you can set any day as the start day in the calendar.

Installation instructions for:

The Calendar FX component is available for Flash CS4, CS5, CS5.5 and requires Flash Player 10 or later. To use this product in Flash you need the MXP file that is available only in the paid package.

You can see an example of how to install a component in Flash Professional here.

In this video you will see:
- how to create an instance of the component on the stage: from the Components panel (Ctrl+F7) drag & drop the component on the stage
- how to give a name to an instance for further use in ActionScript: click on the component instance on the stage and from the Properties panel (Ctrl+F3) enter a name in the text input
- how to access the properties of the component (read or modify) during different moments of your Flash application

Any property of the component could be accessed that way. The names of the properties are identical with the ones from the settings.xml file. The properties of the component can be any of these three types: Number, String, Boolean. We assume it’s intuitive of which type each property is.

Warning! Setting the parameters of the component in the Component Inspector window (Shift+F7) and in the same time having a settings.xml file populated with different values for each property, the properties from the settings.xml file will have priority (meaning that a parameter set in the Component Inspector will be ignored if that parameter is also defined in the XML file).

For now, this component does not dispatch events, but stay tuned for an update.

Hi … just found your site …. developing some websites. Looks great. Couple of questions …

I am creating a database of events. The layout features photos, video etc. The database will have several hundred entries … possibly hundreds for each day

What databases will work to communicate with your calendar.

Do you have a link to a working events website that I can look at.

Also, everyone seems to make comparisons to html5 . What is the difference?

FlashXML Support

Hi,

We no longer offer support for our basic components. We recommend you to use Calendar FX component that is very similar to this one but which is more advanced and has much more functions and features. You can download it from this page.Regarding your question, the events are loaded by the component from the XML file, where you also declare all the events that you want to include. The XML file is located in the calendar’s package with the name Events.xml. Edit this file with a text editor such as Notepad++ and write the events by following the pattern provided there.

Please check again – none of the dates work under any year other than 2009 or 2010. All of the months show the days, but none are highlighted and none work when you click on them.

Hi,

Unfortunately, since this is a free product there are small chances to fix any issues it has in the near future.

Hello,

I have added the years 2011 and 2012, but they do not work. I see that others also have this issue. My link is posted. Please help.

FlashXML Support

Hi,

What exactly is not working? Because I checked your site in all browsers and I saw that the calendar works properly for 2011 and 2012, also.

Hi there,

I’m using the calendar and it only gets centered in the bottom of my site. I published it to be placed under its title but it won’t justify under “HTCI title”. I placed the movie clip correctly in the FLA file. What am I missing? (calendar located on about us page)

FlashXML Support

Hi,

I’m sorry but we don’t offer support anymore for our free products.
